A lot of dog owners leave the radio or tv on for background noise when they are not home.
But do you ever wonder if your dog has a music preference? Well there’s a recent study that suggests they do!
Irish psychologist Deborah Wells exposed dogs at an animal shelter to different genres of music including pop, classical and heavy metal.
When heavy metal was played the dogs appeared agitated and began to bark. The classical music seemed to have a calming effect and many of the dogs began to lay down and quiet their barking. The pop music made no notable behavior difference in the dogs.
So there you have it, it would seem dogs like to chill out to classical music!
Have you noticed a difference in your dog’s behavior when you play music?
